The Catalan regional police, Los Mossos d’Esquadra arrested a drunk lorry driver… from Motril, who was well over the limit.

In fact, the driver when breathalysed was found to be six times over the limit. The reason that he was subjected to a breathalyser was that he had knocked over his co-driver in a gasoline station in Vilamalla (Gerona) on last Sunday night.

According to the police report the lorry driver had been manoeuvring the vehicle when the accident occurred. The co-driver, who had got down out of the cab to give the driver directions in order to park, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Hospital Josep Trueta in Gerona.

The 50-year-old Motrileño was charged with drink-driving and causing injuries through negligence.
