Locals have complained about mounds of earth at the beginning and ending of a popular track-cum-lane in Motril in La Nacla area, effectively blocking it.
It turns out that it was the Town Hall that placed these ‘obstacles’ to prevent cars from using this lane or track between San Antonio and La Nacla.
The locals are not impressed because, as they point out, many elderly people use this for taking a stroll but now with the mounds of sand, they can’t access it.
The Councillor for Urban Development and the Environment, Antonio Escámez, explained, “If we let vehicles use it, people will dump rubbish which we will end up having to clean up again and again. With these barriers in place, we will still have to clear away dumped rubbish but at least it won’t be as much nor as often.”
