Bored? Career change? How about looking after Salobreña Castle – the Town Hall is looking for someone to do precisely that.
This is a consequence of the burglary carried out on the castle no that long ago, when thieves made off with the float money from the till, which probably wasn’t enough to buy a newspaper with.
The person chosen for the position would be on the books in a temporary position until it is covered permanently or “with tenure.” The pay band is the same as a pay-band-E functionary.
Those aspiring to the position have to sit a theory exam consisting of eight questions on a general theme and 22 on a specific theme. Those that pass will go forward to an interview where knowledge of the castle, etc, will be covered.
You don’t have to be Spanish; EU citizens are eligible, but you do have to be over 16 and have a basic school-leaver’s certificate.
Enquire at the Town Hall.
