Here are a few activities that will be taking place in Almuñécar between the 1st and the 14th of September, both in the Parque Majuelo and the Roman Aqueduct pit.

First of all, on the 1st and 2nd there will be a comics and video-games festival (Outworlds SKS) in the Parque Majuelo, which runs from 09.30h to 21.00h on both days.

Then, the Roman Aqueduct near Carbonnel’s will be the venue for a spot of classical music performed by the Joven Orquesta Mediterránea (JOM). That’s at 22.00h on Monday the 3rd. Music will include Ravel’s Bolero and Camille Saint-Saëns’ Morceau de Concertino.

Those those who fancy a spot of open-air classical theatre, then you’re in luck, thanks to the X Festival de Teatro Grecolatino, Sexi Firmun Iulium”, de Almuñécar.

Running from the 4th to the 8th there will be nightly plays in the aqueduct pit starting at 22.00h, including: Medea, by Eurpides, Mostellaria by Plautus, Oedipus the King by Sophocles, Los Pelópidas by Jorge Llopis and Phaedra (Hippolytus) by Euripides.

By the way, if you have happened to pass by the aqueduct pit you will have seen that they have black-netting fence all around to stop people from standing over the stage.
