The body that was found anchored to the seabed, chained to sand-filled petrol containers, belongs to a man from Motril.
The police believe that the 54-year-old man, whose body was found three metres down and ten metres off Playa de Cagaillas, committed suicide. Sources from the Guardia Civil believe that he chained his feet to two petrol containers and then jumped into the water.
The police have come to this conclusion as the man had left a suicide note and witnesses on the beach had seen him filling the containers with sand.
