The 3-year-old boy involved in a swimming-pool accident in Almuñécar on Tuesday is said to be “recovering favourably” in the Intensive Care Unit.

The boy had been found unconcious in the swimming pool of their cortijo on Loma de Gato in Almuñécar.

The child was rushed to the local medical centre and from there by helicopter, using the municipal stadium as a landing area, to Motril’s Santa Ana Hospital.

The medical state of the toddler upon arrival at the ICU was described as serious but stable.
