You know that you’re living somewhere special when you see dolphins swimming just off your beach: here’s a video from Salobreña.
This video was taken just off El Peñon by a team of lifeguards from Escuela de Rescate y Salvamento Serviola, who were in their boat around 300 metres out.
But, of course, just about everybody on the beach on Friday saw them too, although not so close up.
The types of dolphin, porpoise and whale (cetacea) that regularly visit Costa Granada are delfines mulares (bottlenose dolphin), calderones (pilot whale) & zifios (beaked whale).
Hell, you normally have to go to an aquarium to see these welcome visitors, but here we have them enjoying the summer waters like the rest of us.
