Salobreña Handmade Car Meet

SAL Panther_de_ViilleThe UK car club, Panther, will be putting some of its vehicles on display in Salobreña today on Plaza Juan Carlos I.

The event will be held between 10.00h and 13.00h, but if you can’t make it today, you will have another chance on Sunday the 27th when they will be parked along the seafront road next to Urbanización el Sol.

The Panther Club tours Europe displaying these handmade vehicles, such as the Lima or Kallista.

SAL Panther 6The Panther West Winds Car Company was started in 1972 by Bob Jankel, turning out unusual cars, often pastiches of vintage cars.

The models range from the Lima Series 1, which was a small Bugatti-type 2 seater, based on a Vauxhall Magnum floorpan with the 2.3 litre engine (1976 to 1978) to the 6-wheeler, Panther 6, which is a convertible with a mid-mounted 8.2L engine, produced in 1977 – only two of which were ever made.
