The man arrested in Almuñécar accused of hold ups in pharmacies has also been charged with cortijo burglaries in Salobreña.
Also arrested in connection with the burglaries was a 40-year-old fellow Almuñequero, who also enjoys a criminal record.
The burglaries took place in the area of the municipality known as the Paraje de Matagallares and were carried out between the 26th of February and the 1st of March.
The two men allegedly broke in during the early hours and made off with two TVs, as well as several items of farming machinery: a rotavator, three chainsaws and a heavy-duty strimmer, amongst other things.
The Motril Guardia Civil unit, known as Roca, took charge of the investigation into the burglaries, which had caused quite a good deal of concern amongst property owners in that area.
The police checked out 2nd-hand outlets in the provinces of Granada and Almería, as well as flea markets on the Costa Tropical and in one of the above they encountered two of the stolen chainsaws and the rotavator.
From there it was just a case of tracking down the person(s) who had supplied them. Upon questioning the said man not only confessed to having stolen them, according to the Guardia Civil, but had also bubbled his accomplice, who is also reportedly behind the Almuñécar, pharmacy hold ups.
