A haul of hashish was recovered from Playa Granada in Motril, on Friday the 20th, 40 packages were discovered there.
For the next 24 hours the police made sweeps along the rest of the coastline just in case any more appeared.
According to the Councillor for Citizen Safety, María Ángeles Escámez, the 40 kilos (1k per package) were handed over to the Policía Nacional for testing and later destruction.
But Friday night was to be a busy night with a large water leak from a flat causing problems on the floors below; a dangerous dog causing concern in a kiddies’ park and there was a noisy bugger on a mini-bike getting on everybody’s nerves.
There were also two disputes in commercial premises between the proprietors and their customers, as well as a heated argument between two motorists that ended in blows.
Saturday can’t be described as boring either because there was a small fire in a wooded area of El Conjuro. There was another one close to the nearby EVA-9 airbase, which was as easily dealt with as the first one.
