Fibre-Optic Installation

LHR Fibre Optic LayingIn the last few weeks a telephone company has been installing fibre-optic cables in the old town of La Herradura.

But it hasn’t been easy because some property owners did not want the cables crossing their facade, meaning that it had to be channeled underground.

Where there was a need to cross a street junction (20 all told) it was necessary to lay it underground, as well.

Where underground conduits already exist there was no problem but where there weren’t it entailed digging up the street, it some cases, affecting recently laid new paving.

Another piece of good news is that all the old cabling will eventually be removed from the facades of buildings – an eyesore at the best of times.
