The Motril Fire Service has received a number of new vehicles, and it wasn’t cheap: 93,861 euros.
The exact number is three, two of which are fire engines (66,945 euros) and a command vehicle worth 26,916 euros.
The Motril Fire-Service has to provide service for a total of twelve municipalities belonging to the Costa Tropical and the Alpujarra: Motril, Lanjarón, El Pinar, Los Guájares, Gualchos, Salobreña, Vélez, Albuñol, Sorvilán, Rubite, Polopos y Lújar, which have a combined population of 96,265 inhabitants.
Of course the handing over ceremony had quite a few politicians present, getting their sticky fingerprints all over the nice shiny vehicles.
They all made long and tedious speeches which we are pleased to omit here because it is, after all, Sunday and let’s face it, Sundays are for chilling, right?
