Salobreña has several events planned for the Día de Andalucía on Wednesday next week, and has erected a marquee near the Sports Pavilion for the occasion.
The fiesta starts with the municipal band marching around town, departing the Casa de la Cultura and heading off down the old beach road, Fábrica Nueva, Plaza Pontanilla, Avda. de Motril as far as the sports pavilion on the other side of the main road.
This is followed at noon with a speech by the Mayor, Mª Eugenia Rufino, and the raising of the flag whilst the regional anthem is sung. Survivors will be treated to a few pasodobles and a flamenco dance performed by Inmaculada Gómez Jiménez.
Then there’s a solidarity paella with the proceeds going to the AECC,(cancer association) followed by hot chocolate & buñuelos supplied by the women’s association, MUDESA.
Live music follows with a concert with J’hakima and an exhibition of fitflamc (no idea, sorry) put on by the Cristina Rosado Dance School.
Furthermore, the Asociación, Amigos del caballo will be putting on a horse display next to the fairground.
But you don’t have to wait until the 28th because as of today, the fairground stalls are open.
