Little by little, Father Christmas is making inroads into children’s traditions here, so that, it is no surprise that he should appear on La Herradura beach.
On Thursday the 21st, Father Chrismas and his helper went beach stomping, bringing sweets and toys to the village’s children, specifically to a 2-year old called Carmen, who got a teddy bear, before the jolly, red visitor headed for the centre of the village, distributing kilos of sweets and presents.
The Three Kings, of course, won’t be doing any rounds until the 5th and only their Royal Messenger (Cartero) will be about, collecting present requests from kiddies.
A Santa on a sunny beach, mind, looks just a bit out of place, unless you’re Australian, of course.
