It’s the big one! It’s this coming Saturday 9th December at 6pm… the battle of the top two teams in the 3a Andaluza Granada Senior Grupo 1 will happen in Almuñécar at the Municipal Stadium (Estadio Municipal Francisco Bonet)!
Player coach, George Jermy is trimming his beard in frantic anticipation, while the rest of the team are watching re-runs of Vinnie Jones in The Mean Machine to get in the mood.
Top of the table CD Almuñécar City will host second place CD Puntalón on the now ‘carpet-like’ grass in the Municipal Stadium. If City win, they will be five points clear at the top, but if they lose they will be off the top spot and a point behind Puntalón.
There are posters up around Almuñécar advertising the game and social media is alive with opinions, predictions and gossip. The game has the makings of a hard fought, close, battle.
Almuñécar have been subjected to some strange refereeing decisions during recent weeks and, being the ‘team to beat’, plenty of attempts at on-field intimidation, but, in general, they have shown good discipline and maintained a high standard of football.
Supporters are advised to get to the stadium 30 minutes before kick-off scheduled for 6pm. You can get free tickets here and there will be memberships and scarves for sale at the game.
So, live football in Almuñécar at the Municipal Stadium is back! Tell you partners, brothers, sisters, friends and enemies alike, then get your collective butts down to the stadium on Saturday and cheer your local team to victory!
Come on City!
