Órgiva is the place to be if you’re hungry over this mid-December break because until Sunday the 10th there’s the I Jornadas Gastronómicas Pura Alpujarra.
Good chance to try some classic/traditional Alpujarra dishes and whilst you’re at it, some vanguard stuff too using seasonal products.
But if you’re interested in how to prepare some of those Alpujarra specialities, you’re in luck because each day they will be running different culinary themes each day: Plato Alpujarreño, Choto, Puchero de Hinojos, Cordero and Arroz Cortijero.
But it’s not all eating and cooking, because there is also live music, DJs, kiddies’ cinema and even walking routes/guided visits.
So, if you’re feeling a little crowded in on the Costa Tropical with the arrival of all the tourists, why not head up into the Alpujarra?
