A new case of Mad Cow Disease (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy) was discovered on a farm in Salamanca, according to the World Organisation for Animal Health.
The farm, El Sahugo, has 213 animals, one of which, a dairy cow born in 1999, has the disease.
The sample taken during a routine inspection from the animal proved positive in EBB on the 21st of November. These inspections are carried out nationwide on a routine basis.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Agriculture followed the established protocol and informed the WOAH.
