Workers from the Almuñécar beach-cleaning company, Urbaser were busy last week picking up tonnes of seaweed, which had been washed up by the surf.

Urbaser collected 3.5 tonnes, mainly on Playa Calabajío in Taramay and on La Herradura beaches, filling 150 and 100 large plastic bags, respectively.

Looks like they will be at it this week, as well, judging by last night’s high winds.
