So I grabbed my camera and set off for the N-340 to get some shots of the vuelta as it passed through Almuñécar.
They began today in Motril, then on to Salobreña, Almuñécar and La Herradura. After that… who knows. We did do an article earlier in the week giving the route and times etc., but really, who cares. Today is about the Costa Tropical! There were news crews, helicopters, motorbikes and cars. So exciting!
Unfortunately, I know nothing about cycling. It was very colourful, the riders were obviously super-fit and the bikes were travelling at a ridiculously high speeds. I’m sure that Froome chappy was in there somewhere… but I wouldn’t have recognised the fella even if he’d crashed into me.
Anyway, they went through very quickly, lots of people lined the roads and I have to admit it was quite a spectacle.
Anyway, I got my photos, and riders have gone. Who will win? Presumably it’ll be the rider with the biggest drugs budget… allegedly.
