La Herradura enjoyed a great flamenco show in the form of the VI Velada Flamenca in tribute to local flamenco singer, Manuel Rodríguez a.k.a. El Ruso on the 24th of August.

The concert, which lasted three hours, was organised by Juan Pinilla with the Castle gardens chosen as the venue.

The first artiste on the bill was the flamenco singer, Sergio a.k.a. El Colorao, accomapnied on the guitar by Antonio Mesa with the choreography provided by flamenco dancer Silvia Lorenzo. This line up also performed again at the end of the concert.

Local flamenco singer José Antonio Tello was next on with Raúl Ruiz (Guitar) but the main performance was given by Antonio Fernández, who drew standing ovations from the audience.

Another highlight was when the widow and daughter of El Ruso came onto the stage to thanks artistes and the audience for the tribute Manuel Rodríguez, El Ruso.
