Salobreña Barranco Clearing

SAL Rambla ClearingSalobreña has been clearing its riverbed and barrancos of vegetation, too, because summers & early autumns are prone to sudden downpours in this Andalusian climate.

The Town Hall has been nagging the provincial office of the Junta, which has actually paid off this year, admits the Mayor, María Eugenia Rufino.

The task started with the Rambla de Dominguito and the Rambla del Arca, and working later on the Barranco de La Caleta, so that by the first week of August, it should all be completed.

But it is not only a case of cutting down and dragging out all the vegetation, but also a case of carrying out repairs to defensive work and digging out an excessive build up of silt from the winter and spring.

The Junta is spending 400,000 euros on these tasks in Salobreña, Motril and Albuñol.
