Timely Rambla Clearing

MOT rambla cleaning OnLWork is underway to clear Motril’s ramblas of their abundant vegetation, which could pass off as a location shoot for The Day of the Triffids. It began on the 17th.

The Councillor for Parks, Gardens and Low-Yield Nuclear Devices, Gloria Chica, announced that things were advancing without hitches in the north of the town, next to Ronda de Poniente. From there, she said, they would work their way down to Alcampo and from thence, down to the beach.

Councillor Chica said that she had pointed out to the Environmental Department of the Junta that the clearing out of Rambla de las Brujas was a priority for Motril, which has responded to the request with reasonable alacrity.

In the meantime, off their own back, the Town Hall is tidying up the cycle & pedestrian lanes that run down the side of the Rambla de las Brujas from Alcampo down to the Centro de Desarrollo Turístico

Editorial comment: We have been lucky up till now that we have not had the habitual cloud burst around mid summer. This should really have been done in the second half of June.
