It was at 09:20h yesterday 3rd June that a man armed with a knife held up a supermarket in Almuñécar – the cashier handed over the contents of the till: coins and a bundle of five and 10-euro notes.
As soon as he was out of the door, she called the police and within moments two Guardia Civil policemen had come across the suspect, who was behaving nervously, in the Majuelo Park area.
They stopped him and asked him for ID and inspected the contents of the backpack that he had hanging on one shoulder. In it was the roll of missing notes.
The police took him to the police post and the cashier was called in to identify him, which she did.
He was arrested and will be appearing before a magistrate.
