A 3-year-old boy was involved in an accident in a private pool on Sunday the 21st in Rincón de la Victoria, Málaga, dying the next day.
It appeared that the child slipped and fell into the pool unnoticed until it was too late.
The incident occurred at 17.15h in a house on an urbanizacion in La Cala del Moral. The emergency number 112 received a call to say that a child was drowning. The ambulance crew managed to revive the child and rush him to the Materno Infantil de Málaga, where his state was initially described as very serious.
The hospital informed that the child had died the next morning.
This now makes the third child to drown in the space of a very short time: on the 19th a 4-year-old girl drowned in a municipal pool in Ripoll (Girona) and on the same day 3-year-old drowned in Órgiva (Alpujarra) in an alberca (an open water tank that often doubles as a pool).
