There will be traffic restrictions in Motril today and tomorrow because of the bicycle race that will be routed through the town.
The Councillor for Citizen Safety, María Ángeles Escámez, explained that on Saturday the 18th, between 16.00h and 20.00h, the A-433 will be closed to traffic, from the hospital roundabout up to the Gorgoracha tunnel. We’re talking about the Vélez-Benaudalla back road.
She promised that people who need to access their land up there (La Nacla) will be given alternative access.
Then on Sunday the 19th between 10.00h and 12.00h, the I Vuelta Ciclista Costa Tropical will take place between Motril and Castel del Ferro and back, setting out from the Plaza Coronación and with the finishing line on the Paseo de las Explanadas.
For this reason, the Avenida de Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza (leading down to the port) will be closed to traffic and access to it from the roundabout in front of the municipal pool.
If you are following the race, remember to watch out after the last rider peddles past for the bees…
