The long-awaited Escuela de Música y Danza in Almuñécar will finally have its inauguration on Tuesday the 28th at 12.15h.

This modern building with nearly 2,000 sq/m of floor space is situated on the P-4, just around the corner from the gasoline station, virtually in front of the Medical Centre.

Of course, the day chosen is a regional holiday, being Andalusia Dia, almost seven years from the first stone being laid.

It was the summer of 2014 when the Town Council that work on the building, which had remained in skeletal form for several years, was to recommence, thanks to a deal struck with the Central Government.

All told, the 3-storey building (basement, ground and first floor) has cost the town just over a million euros. Until now, the Municipal Music School has been housed on the 2nd floor of the Municipal Market.
