A 10-year-old boy in Getafe (Madrid) took a road-sweeping machine for a ride after he found the keys in the ignition, bless him.

This occurred on the afternoon of Saturday 28th January in the the municipal vehicle park on Calle Palestina. The buggy, belonging to the municipal cleaning company, LYMA was parked up with the keys generously left inside

Ten years old, a gleaming buggy, keys in the ignition – a recipe for disaster!

The lad managed to travel several hundred metres, bashing into several other vehicles along the way: clever enough to start it, but not clever enough to steer it, obviously.

Finally, the municipal police managed to cut off his escape and bring him to a halt, admonish him and march him off to have a chat with mummy and daddy at home.
