The Christmas lottery, El Gordo, touched down in Almuñécar, although in a modest form, with two winning decimos: 22259 & 60272.

Both of these numbers correspond to the 5th prizes – There are four 5th prizes. The First and Second prizes were in sold in Madrid and Navarra and although the Fourth and Fifth prizes mainly landed elsewhere in Spain, two lucky people managed to buy a decimo here on the Costa Tropical.

The 22259 decimo was sold in Lottery Office in Calle Vélez and the 60272 decimo was sold in Jofri, which is at the top of the Avenida de Andalucía. The photo above is of Bea and Mayte, who are cousins and run the lottery office/news agents, Jofri.

The girls at Jofri have sold quite a few winning tickets over the years and it is almost a rare occurrence that Jofri doesn’t appear in the news when El Gordo comes around.

In both cases the prize winners won about 6,000 euros, which is not to be sniffed at!
