ALP orgiva 01 OnLThe Guardia Civil in Granada found a 15-year-old German girl who had gone missing from a home for minors in Gauting, (Bavaria) in July.

When the police found her outside a social kitchen in the city, she was described as being in a “lamentable state.”

The Schengen Information System (SIS) via its SIRENE office, had contacted the provincial HQ of the Guardia Civil to say that they had information to lead them to believe that she might be in Órgiva in the Alpujarra.

SIRENE, by the way, stands for Supplementary Information Request at the National Entries. Each state operating the SIS has set up a national SIRENE Bureau, operational 24/7, that is responsible for any supplementary information exchange and coordination of activities connected to SIS alerts.

After carrying out investigation in Órgiva they found that she was no longer there and that she had been seen begging in the centre of Granada in the company of a young lad and a dog.
