During the course of the afternoon Infoca units: four aircraft, several fire trucks and groups of firefighters, have been working to extinguish the fire.
The affected area is the one known as Cerro de Los Madroños.
According to Infoca reports on Twitter, the fire was brought under control at 18.50 but still not declared extinguished.
Judging by the photograph, the area is not wooded but covered by sparse mountain brush. Nevertheless, this is a new blow for the village which is far from recovering from the large fire last year.
