Salobreña Paseo Work Returns

SAL Aerial View Paseo OnLThe provincial department of Costas started on the 2nd phase of the Salobreña paseo work on Wednesday the 6th of July. It is scheduled to conclude at the end of July.

Obviously, whilst the Town Hall is content that the work is finally happening, the fact that it is happening now with the summer crowds on the beaches, leaves them far from “happy.”

The reason that the Town Hall is not kicking up a fuss is because the 200,000 budget could easily be reassigned to somewhere else along the coast, should Salobreña say that they don’t want the work being carried out during the summer.

Salomar 2000 is going to lose its wall and some of its garden area to the paseo project, starting Monday the 11th, if not before.

No work will be carried out on the beach below the paseo from Salomar 2000 eastwards, other than the removal of large stones and rubble left over from the 1st-Phase work.

The Town Hall in the meantime will put showers and other beach infrastructure in place on that stretch of the beach.

As for the coming and going of dumper lorries etc, once a route is opened they won’t be coming along the beach road but along Avenida de Andalucía and entering from the back to the work area.
