A helicopter was used to rescue a woman in her mid 50’s in Otivar. She had fallen down a high embankment and although not seriously hurt, she is said to have damaged her spine.

The Servicio de Rescate e Intervención en Montaña (Sereim) was called in after her husband reported the accident on the 112 Emergency Number.

She was picked up and flown to the village’s heliport where an ambulance was waiting to take her to Motril Hospital. However, it was decided that she would be flown from there to a hospital in the province of Málaga instead.

The accident occurred below the Restaurante Buena Vista on land belonging to her family.
