The latest Plenary Meeting of the Salobreña Town Council has approved the ceding of municipal land to the Junta for a new Centro de Salud.

This is the first step for the signing of a deal between the two administrations for the eventual building of the said medical complex.

According to the Mayor, Mª Eugenia Rufino, “We all agree that there is a necessity for an improvement in our medical infrastructure, therefore we should congratulate ourselves on the fact that Salobreña is a priority for the Junta de Andalucia,” adding, “Very soon we will have a project and can talk about dates for this most important construction project in our village.”

The envisaged plot of publicly owned land has a surface area of 4,500 sq/m and is located to the south of the town’s urban area, next to Parque de la Fuente II. This area also houses the municipal nursery, the Casa de la Cultura and the public library.
