Money for Beach Regeneration

The Central Government has announced that it will be dedicating 250,000 euros to the regeneration of the deteriorated beaches along the Costa Tropical.

Its regional representative, Antonio Sanz, said that the commencement of the actual work would be “imminent.”

One such beach would be Playa Granada in Motril, which has been reduced to a heap of rubble with all traces of sand washed away.

The town halls along the coast, together with the Mancomunidad de la Costa Tropical, have been hammering at the doors of Madrid for something to be done as summer official begins in two weeks.

All told, eleven beaches are included in the quarter-million budget.
