I am a long term resident of La Herradura and am interested in the new licencing system for short-term lets of property.

There are several English-language publications and each has a different version. (one article says that rentors have to be met, give in their passports and these have to be taken to the police station the next day. Other publications don’t mention this).

You carried the story earlier in the year but it was written by an estate agent, so could be slightly bias. As this law is going to affect so many people, perhaps it is time for one of your reporters to interview the Tourist Department and get all the facts and figures. It could make a good one page article.

I am most interested in the safety side and if there are safety rules. There are so many properties with old gas boilers, we dont need the publicity of a major accident, not withstanding the harm to the rentors.
