On the 23rd of this month, you have a choice of events in Almuñécar; go watch the Moscow Ballet perform Don Quixote, or grab a sequin hat and sing on top of el Peñon El Santo.

We’ll, we’ve already explained about the ballet so here goes with the singing on the Peñon sporting a sequin hat…

The event, which is designed to set a record in the Guinness Book of Records, is organized by a pub situated near Hotel Playa on San Cristóbal .

How? By getting 500 people up on top of the Santo to sing Todos Los Besos. The hat you have to buy for four euros but the sheet music is free. The price of the hat is to cover costs rather than make a killing, mind.

Those that want to join in should be at the Chiringuito Restaurante Calabré on San Cristóbal at 13.30h on the said Saturday to register. You’ll also get the chance to learn the song… a little bit.

The official photo will be taken at 16.30h and then at 18.00h there will be a celebration at the said pub: La Bámbola.

Let’s see… Watching Russian Ballet or singing on top of a rock in a sequin hat – tough one! Or not, as the ballet begins at 20.00h. That’s as long as you don’t turn up with your sequin hat, or you could end up in Siberia.
