The Catalán regional police have arrested a Pakistani immigrant after she allegedly drowned her 4-year-old daughter in the bath.

The incident, which took place in Sant Boi de Llobregat, came to light when the mother, herself phoned 112 at 18.30h on the 16th of April to confess that she had just killed her daughter at home.

A patrol car was immediately sent to the house and officers found the dead child and the distraught mother.

Just under a year ago a similar thing happened when a 36-year-old mother in Santa Perpétua de Mogoda (Barcelona), suffering from post-natal depression, killed her baby in the same way.
