An 81-year-old man died when a young woman fell on him from a 7th-floor balcony. Her fall hadn’t been an accident; her intention was to commit suicide.

This occurred on Calle Enrique Madrid in Alicante… back in December but we missed it. But as it’s such an unusual story we have decided to post it anyway.

The victim, i.e., the elderly man, was sitting on a street bench together with his wife, who went into shock. There was another person on the bench, who was not hit.

The falling woman, 48-year-old S.S.M. and the wife of the victim both ended up in the same hospital. The younger woman’s condition was reported as “reserved” on the 3rd of December. She will probably be charged with manslaughter.

There were also other cases of similar incidents:, by the way, in Seol in 2013 where a man jumped from a ninth floor window, killing himself in the act and a young girl of only five who he landed on top of.

Furthermore, five years ago and elderly woman died in Málaga when a young man landed on top of her in a suicide attempt. She died and he survived.

Finally, one year before that in Viladecans (Barelona), in 2009, a woman hit a young man after she had flung herself from an 8th-floor balcony; both died
