The II Feria de la Tapa Alpujarreña in Órgiva began yesterday and will conclude Tuesday (8th) afternoon.

The event is set up in Plaza Alpujarra de Órgiva – which is the town’s main square – and will give locals and visitors a great chance to sample some excellent local tapas, using local products.

Migas con pimientos & panceta; patatas a lo pobre con morcilla & longaniza; lomo a la orza; costilla adobada; caracoles; perdices; puchero de hinojos; croquetas de morcilla; embutidos alpujarreños; asadura con patatas; chicharrones… Now if that didn’t make your mouth water… or your eyes if you had to pour over a dictionary, then nothing will.

But the II Feria de la Tapa Alpujarreña is not just about stuffing yourself wicked, as there are parallel activities for the kids, including a bouncy castle (make sure they eat after rather than before, if you don’t want them to paint the castle…) as well as live music, dancing, bingo and mopping out the bouncy castle.

Oh, and there will also be a Mercado Navideño, complete with Father Christmas, story telling, all along Calle Doctor Fleming.
