La Herradura Scuba Tourism

LHR Diving School Meeting OnLThe Almuñécar Councillor for Tourism had a meeting with the diving clubs in La Herradura to discuss ideas about boosting this activity as a tourist attraction.

There was talk of making an exclusive promotional video of  the local seabed to be used in tourism fairs and on the Internet. To do it, the Town Hall needs the help of the diving clubs.

Councillor Rafael Caballero explained that next January at the national tourism fair in Madrid (FITUR) the Municipal Tourist Board would be presenting the Campeonato de Europa de Fotografía Submarina, which will be held in La Herradura in October 2016.

The Councillor also announced at the meeting that in February the Board wants to participate in the diving fair Dive Travel Show in Madrid with its own stand. The said fair in 2014 had 110 stands and had around 12,000 visitors.

Another idea is the publication of a diving manual including the main diving spots in the bay etc, giving details on difficulties, estimated immersion times and what’s down there.

Sound interesting; let’s see if any of it comes off.
