It was around 18.30h on 29/11/15 that a middle-aged man on a mobility scooter ran right over an elderly lady and then fled the scene. This hit-&-run incident occurred on the Gran Vía de San Marcos in León.

The victim was taken to hospital with a fractured lower leg, scraped elbows and severe concussion.

Three people witnessed the incident and saw how the mobility scooter closed with the women “at great speed,” leaving them unable to dodge the hurtling contraption. The victim fell to the ground from the force of the collision, only to be driven over by the infernal device. She actually had tyre marks on her body.

The police are now trying to trace the ‘driver’ and have issued a description that includes that the man has a handicap that makes him hang his head to one side and he has, what was described as a “lost gaze.”
