The municipal walking club of Almuñécar is beginning its new season with a walk from the Refugio Ferreira to Posada de los Arrieros this Sunday, the 27th of September.
All through Autumn, Winter and Spring the walking club, organized by the Almuñécar Sports Board, organises walks all over the province, taking in places of amazing natural beauty, grading each walk for its complexity and gradients.
Municipal guides, Enrique Garín and Francisco Novo plan each one and accompany walkers of all ages on these walks.
This first walk takes in medieval roads and paths in the Parque Nacional de Sierra Nevada, as well as it stunning meadows and ample pine woodlands – the whole route is around the 2,000m altitude mark, so it should be nice and cool.
Guide Garin says that it is a perfect walk for beginners, so here is your opportunity to dig out your walking boots and spend a splendid Sunday!
