Butcher Defence

GRA Huetor Vega DiaTwo youths, armed with a sawn-off shotgun and a large knife were ‘seen off’ by the butcher at a Día supermarket in Huétor Vega.

The two robbers burst into the supermarket on Avenida de los Almendros on Thursday the 17th at 21.00h; i.e., shortly before closing time when the tills were brimming with the day’s takings.

In short, good planning fatally flawed by not taking into account the butcher.

The said employee simply faced them down until they quite literally became nervous over the impasse and gave up the attempt, abandoning the supermarket without bagging any money whatsoever.

The same two robbers appeared to have carried out the raids on a gasoline station in Cúllar Vega on the 27th of June and an ITV centre in Las Gabias on the 27th of July, followed by a robbery on a shopping centre in Armilla on the 22nd of August… busy blighters, obviously.

In the Cúllar Vega raid, one of them fired the sawn-off into the ceiling to show that they meant business and that the firearm was real.
