AND montefrio safari lunchThe foreign residents of Montefrío held their Safari Lunch for the third year running on Sunday the 13th, starting in the early afternoon.

So what the hell is a safari lunch? Well, basically they make a visit to two cortijos in the area, stopping off at each one to have a spot to eat.

So, the first stop was Cortijo Solanillo de Cigales on the Tocón road where they had starters. Then they moved on to Cortijo Judeo where they had the main course, before moving on to the summer cinema in Montefrío for the dessert, drinks a live music.

As you might have guessed, the two cortijos are run by foreigners and are rural guest houses, where the proprietors prepare a typical dish from their home country, as well some good-old Andalusia faire.

Each participant contributed 15 euros, which goes to the municipal handicapped association, Alegria

Councillor Remedios Osuna Serrano is impressed by how integrated the foreign community is and its participation in all kinds of municipal activities.

Participants in the organization of the III Safari Lunch include the Asociación de Minuválidos de Montefrío, Radio Montefrío, Restaurante Pregonero, Frutería La Lechera, el Ayuntamiento, and many volunteers, both locals and foreigners.
