Police Rumble False Plates

ALM False dutch plates OnLLa Policía Local in Almuñécar nabbed two foreigners with false number plates. One is a 39-year-old Moroccan and the other is 27-year-old Moroccan with dual Dutch nationality.

The police action was the result of one of the municipal policemen finding a badly parked car on the Paseo de Velilla on the 29th of August.

Attempting to process a fine – bless his cotton socks – he found that the vehicle (A Vokswagen Touran) with German plates had several things wrong, so a tow truck was called in and the car removed to the vehicle compound for a closer look.

Basically the plates were not standard as certain numbers within the registration had allegedly been altered.

Then on the 31st, the two men turned up at the police station with Dutch export plates. However, a closer look at these plates also turned up evidence of having been altered – the end result were plates that didn’t even look like bona-fide Dutch export plates.

As anything more complicated than issuing fines is not exactly keenly handled by the municipal police, the two men were handed over to the Guardia Civil.
