Junta bigwig for Rural Development, Manuel García Cerezo and the Mayor of Gualchos, Antonia María Antequera, recently inaugurated the Banco de Sensaciones.

Actually, the full title of the building is the “Increased Awareness and Defence of Cultural and Traditional Heritage, Sensations Bank. Who the bloody hell thinks up these titles?

Anyway, the facilities are to “protect and give value to the elements that have traditionally made up the culture” of Gualchos, Castell de Ferro and El Romeral.

The project had a budget of 120,000 euros, co-financed by the Town Hall and the Junta, through the Rural Development Group.

Basically, the idea is to push eco-tourism by highlighting local rural heritage.

The said centre is on Calle Natalio Rivas in Gualchos and has exhibits in the form of photos and audio-videos. Furthermore, the Asociación de Vecinos Cueva de la Virgen de Gualchos has been actively involved.
