There was a court hearing in Motril concerning the accusations made by the Almuñécar Municipal Secretary against the Mayor, Sra. Herrera.

In the end, the Secretary, Arantzazu Ibarreche Truchero, who stood accused of slander, withdrew and apologised for her claim back in February 2012.

She had been addressing the Asociación de Mujeres Ecologistas Sexitanas in Hotel Victoria Playa at a conference entitled, Función Pública y Democracia Local.

She accused the Mayor, amongst other things, of having committed “breach of trust and urban-development corruption,” which the promted the Mayor to sue her.

Three and a half years later, the case reached court and ended with the accused publicly apologising to Trinidad Herrera.

The Mayor accepted her apologies thus closing the issue.
