The municipal cleaning company in Motril, Limdeco, has launched its summer motorized skiff to keep the beach-water clean… fearlessly.

The new Mayor was there, as were the company manager and the Head of Motril Port to witness the heady occasion.

The mighty beast is called Motril 1 and has a crew of two; one to handled the controls and the other to handle the scoops attached to either side.

Every now and again the scoops or baskets are emptied into a container at the back of the boat.

Three times a week Motril 1 will cruise along Motril’s beaches during the whole of July and August.

The company manager believes that sufficiently armed with alacrity and determinations, the crew can retrieve about 1,500 kilos of residue this summer.

So, there you have it; two gallant men in a tub, keeping floating, indescribable oddities from floating ashore and leering at you suggestively!
