La Caletilla Groyne Completed

ALM Playa Caletilla Before OnLAlmuñécar’s La Caletilla beach – that’s the one below the Paseo de Prieto Moreno – now has an extended and more effective groyne.

The heavy machinery brought in by Costas placed the boulders to extend the groyne, as well as sand for regenerating the beach.

Bathers will notice one curious difference mind, and that is that the Peñon Pajaritos has disappeared. We’re talking about some rocks reachable from the beach that were a favourite for perching seagulls; hence the name. No big loss… except for the seagulls, that is.

Work continues down Velilla way but it is hoped that everything will be ready for San Juan later this month.
