Aladdin Through Flamenco

PP Aladdin FlamencoAfter the success and critical acclaim for their two previous shjows, “Girls of the Patio” and “Romeo and Juliet,” Maria Gomez take on the Tale of Aladdin, represented in films, books and music, but never in the form of Flamenco.

Based on the Arabian tale, Aladdin and the Magical Lamp in the Arabian Nights, the story tells of a poor young man who discovers a genie in a lamp and uses his wishes to marry the princess he loves and thwart the evil Sultan.

Maria Gomez, who directs and choreographs the show though her dance school and students, will be putting on this excellent show for your enjoyment: a tale as old as the centuries, told through the art form of pure Flamenco.

Guitarist, Carmelo Najarro, uses a mixture of rhythms, both Arabic and Andalusian Flamenco, making the listener vibrate through the universality of flamenco fused with such different styles

So here’s you chance to the see representation of Aladdin but in the inimitable style of Flamenco, on June the 18th at 21:00 in the Casa de la Cultura, Almuñecar. Ticket sales at the box office one hour before the show with a price of 10 euros per person.
